Wheel Classes
| Beginning Wheel |
|
Designed for those individuals who want to experience clay; for those
beginners who want to expand their experience, or for those who are ready
for a refresher. This class includes an introduction to the potter's
wheel, focusing on wedging, shaping, trimming, simple glazing
techniques, and studio safety. Aesthetic consideration will also
be discussed.
Typically, students take this class more than once before
they are comfortable moving on to the next level. We want you to
learn what it takes to throw a pot, but it's just as important to us that
you have a good experience. We also have designed the beginning pottery
classes to give you the basic skills and knowledge (after a couple of
sessions) to become an open studio member.
No prior art experience
is required. Demonstrations, group discussions. One-to-one attention will
be given to each student.TEACHERS: We are accredited for teacher
recertification points! Includes 25 lbs. clay, class glaze, and
oxidation firing.
Open Lab is also included at no additional charge. Tools are extra,
if you need them. A basic kit costs $17.95
$240 - Tuition reduced for 2010! |
